U.S. 31

Before the Interstate system was created, U.S. 31 was an important north-south route running from Michigan to Mobile, Alabama.

Today, U.S. 31 is fragmented and in several areas it is multiplexed with interstate highways. Its northern terminus is Mackinaw City, Michigan, and its southern terminus is Spanish Fort, Alabama, across the bay from Mobile.

The highway also passes through the states of Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee.

U.S. 31 south: Cullman to Blount Springs, Alabama
