Alabama highways

Known as the Heart of Dixie, Alabama is a southeastern U.S. state. From the southern border of Tennessee, Alabama stretches for 330 miles to the Gulf of Mexico.

Montgomery is the state capital, while Birmingham is the state's largest city.

Key highway number in Alabama is 31: U.S. 31, U.S. 231, U.S. 331 and U.S. 431 are among the principal red highways crossing the state.

Additionally, the Natchez Trace Parkway cuts through the northwest corner of the state and the Selma to Montgomery March Byway marches down U.S. 80.
